Kalshi Volume
How much trading runs through Kalshi and what's driving it — daily volume, how many trades it takes to get there, and the split between sports, non-sports, and parlays.
How this is calculated
Volume and trade count are summed straight from Kalshi's trade records. The sports/non-sports/parlay split and the category views map each market to a bucket, with unmapped markets kept in "Other" so nothing gets double-counted. Trend lines are trailing 7-day averages.
Daily volume
Kalshi's daily trading volume, with a 7-day trend line. Flip on event markers to line the spikes up with the days that caused them.
Daily trade count
How many individual trades it took — a read on whether the action is coming from a crowd or a few big players.
Sports vs. non-sports volume
What's driving the volume — sports, non-sports, and parlays. Switch to a sports-only or non-sports-only view to see the categories inside each.
Trading activity today
Contracts by hour (Eastern Time) on the latest day in the feed, split into sports, parlays, and non-sports. The faded bar is still counting.
Typical trading week
The average hour of the week across the selected window. Change both the metric and the segment; the current weekday also shows today's actual pace.
What the weekly average means
Each bar averages one day-of-week × hour combination across the selected window. In-progress hours are excluded. Parlays remain their own segment, and the connected dots on today's row show the latest day's actual values.
Open interest
Total contracts still open across Kalshi at the end of each day — bets placed but not yet settled. Volume is how much changes hands; open interest is how much money is currently riding on the exchange.
What this measures
Open interest is the number of contracts currently held — bought but not yet sold or settled — added up across every Kalshi market at day's end. Note: this snapshot updates on a periodic schedule rather than live, so the chart ends
